New news for Telegram users

Telegram users can now send Tether’s stablecoin, USDT-TRON, to each other using the messaging app's wallet bot function.

While USDT is a stablecoin, its value is backed by the U.S. dollar and it is the third-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, after Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Telegram will support USDT-TRON on the Tron network, which is known for its low cost and high speed.

Telegram introduced cryptocurrency to its app in 2018 with the Telegram Open Network, but the project was abandoned after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission deemed its initial coin offering illegal.

Today, users can still buy, sell, and send Toncoin (TON) on the app.
